How We Start
The Divine Mercy Charitable Trust and Community Welfare is a charitable organization under Government Registration of 1955 Act for Travancore Cochin Society Registration Act. It was established in the year 2002 as a humble beginning with the great intention to help the poor and neglected persons. Our aim is the protection by providing shelter, food, clothes, treatments and medicines for the aged neglected once from the main stream of the society. We do not receive any fee from the inmates, because all the inmates in our institution are thoroughly unable to pay any fee. They have been completely abandoned from family and society. Several aged persons were admitted and mental patients were accommodated in concerned asylums. We also do other social services like constructions of houses, allowance for family maintenance, house repairing etc.
Then we felt the need of our own convenient building and premises for the protection of the aged.
The long cherished dream of Divine Mercy Charitable Trust in our own building came to reality in the year 2006 at Kollakonam, Kattakada. Hence we could purchase 30 cents of land at Kollakonam in 2004. And a building of 4000 square feet was constructed for the Old Age Home.
Now we have separate building for both male and female aged residents. Dormitories for gents and ladies, hall, dining room, prayer room, kitchen and treatment room are arranged in the Old Age Home.
